Connect with yourself, listen to your body, move in harmony.
Qigong is a gentle martial art engaging your body in soft physical movements while also engaging your mind. This leads to a state of mindful meditation. Qigong is used for relaxation as well as for harmonizing the energies within the body. In Chinese and Taoist philosophy the world is made up of yin and yang energies. These are opposing energies such as masculine and feminine, light and dark, giving and receiving. They exist in all of phenomena and within the body. Qigong builds self awareness and consciousness to attune to the ever changing needs of your life. It enlivens body awareness and is a tool for tuning to the needs of the body. Qigong is a practice that unites the body, mind and spirit bringing health and wellness.
First, calming the mind brings your focus to the present moment. The qigong forms work with varied aspects of being, bringing your mind, body and spirit into harmony, for greater well being. Qigong supports you to flow with confidence and to enact the changes you want for yourself. Blending qigong with psychotherapy I use selected qigong forms to work with specific psychological states.
If it’s appropriate for you, I weave the qigong into your individual therapy sessions.
